Join us as a Software Engineer, in Hässleholm, Sweden.

YOUR ROLE

As a Software Engineer your focus will be software design of a generic computer-based interlocking system (CBI2) used in many different countries. The CBI2 is a part of the INTERFLO 450 system, which is a safety classified (SIL4) signaling solution for main lines. In the daily work you will have the possibility to learn more about development of safety classed systems and at the same time gain knowledge about Signalling safety requirements, Safety Integrity Level (SIL4) and European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC).

The generic product CBI2 is a computer-based interlocking system capable of market adaptation for use in different countries. The first computer-based interlocking went into operation in 1978 and today computer-based interlocking plants have been delivered to different counties around the world by the company.
The same basic design-for-safety principles, including software diversity, have been used since the beginning and we are today one of the market leaders in providing computer-based interlocking system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CHALLENGES
• Design, implement and integrate new software functionality.
• Maintenance and bug fixes.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
• A relevant engineering degree. Preferably a master’s degree in either electronics, computer science or electrical engineering.
• Experienced programmer in an embedded environment.
• Knowledge of Linux and/or Git/Gerrit is highly appreciated.
• Cybersecurity experience.
• Analytical and structured mindset, with an eye for details.

Purpose of the Job

As a Railway Signalling Test Engineer you will be working with the specific application of the wayside system within region North. The main responsibility in the role as Test Engineer is to verify that the wayside system fulfils the railway signalling requirements. Tests will be carried out on target machine and in a virtual environment doing manual test or implementing and maintaining automated test cases.

Your responsibilities will include:
Plan the test activities, set up the test environment and execute test cases.
Write Test Specification and analyze system requirements.
Report and analyze non-conformity reports and test results.
Perform bid estimations.
Cooperation with employees within the team and department to continuously improve system knowledge and improve way of working.
Manage the integration process using the software baselines.
Develop and maintain records on the integration activities.


Key requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Preferably Electrical, Computer Science, Applied Physics or similar) alternatively, any equivalent degree or work experience will be accepted.
Experience in a similar role or with testing systems including integrated hardware and software.
Basic knowledge of embedded systems, understanding schematics and layouts of embedded Hardware.
Experience from similar industries with safety applications, (automotive, industrial or aerospace) is an advantage.
Experience with test automation, Climate, EMC or Vibration Tests is considered a plus.
Computer knowledge for example installation of operating systems, drivers and network configuration.
Knowledge of Phyton and Linux.
Railway signalling knowledge will be highly preferred.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE


Signalling Engineer Hardware Configuration will be part of an experienced and engaged team within Region North Engineering Nordics organization.


The Signalling Engineer Hardware Configuration will do detailed design of cabinets and assure that the product meets applicable customer specifications.


The role also includes support to manufacturing, installation, test and commissioning during construction of system.


IN YOUR ROLE YOU WILL


• Hardware Configuration of a safety critical system.
• Interact with external suppliers of equipment.
• Decide about technical solutions to fulfill customer requirements and design rules.
• Report the status of assigned work package to the line organization.
• Participate in meetings as required representing the specific area of knowledge (customer meetings, project meetings, CCB-meetings etc.).
• Compose pre-studies/investigations for bids in his/her area of expertise.
• Perform bid estimations.
• Cooperation with employees within the team and department to continuously improve system knowledge and improve way of working.


Qualifications


• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or any other equivalent field or work experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Relevant experience required in a similar role (i.e. directly linked to the requirements of the position/role).
• Experience in railway signalling, ERTMS or other safety-critical systems is highly valued.
• Previous experience in working with Design tools (AutoCAD - mandatory, Elmaster – beneficial).

It’s all about progress.We are now looking for a Signalling Engineer for our site in Hässleholm, Sweden.PURPOSE OF THE JOBAs Signalling Engineer you have the opportunity to handle the signaling system design of a specific application with safety requirements. You can make decisions about technical solutions related to application design/ SW configuration following applicable internal and external railway rules and regulations and partake in bid preparations in new projects.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CHALLENGES- Railway signalling system design of a specific application with safety requirements.- Create and deliver specific application documentation to secure quality and safety- Time, cost and status reporting of the work packages included in scope to a work package leader/ project leader- Provide support to installation, testing and commissioning during the construction of a system- Compose pre-studies and carry out investigations- Participate in customer meetings as required representing the specific area of expertise- Participate in bid preparations in new projects- Support to installation, test and commissioning during construction of systemQualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience- Basic/good knowledge about Railway process and signalling systems- Good problem-solving and analytical skills- Strong communication skills- Knowledge of railway specific rules and regulations is considered an advantage- Knowledge of railway process and signalling systems will he highly appreciated- Swedish and English - fluentBombardier is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
