Your mission:
As a Software Engineer, you will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle and be working together in a team in a global and agile environment. You have experience from developing java applications running either in a local or server-side environment. What will you do?
Working with railway signalling has never been more exciting that now. The new European standard, ERTMS is on its way to reshape the future of public transportation. Your main responsibilities will be to manage safety requirements and to perform Safety analysis with the strict application of process according to the existing Signalling Safety Instructions and standards. You will participate in the elaboration of the Safety Cases. You will need to apply the safety assurance methodologies e.g safety analysis, FMEA, FTA defined for the specific project. Another part of the role will be for you to attend periodic Safety Reviews with our experts and support actions contributing to close the findings of the internal or external assessors. I Alstoms spännande kundprojekt är du med från ax till limpa, vilket innebär att du redan i säljfasen är delaktig för att definerera och planera de aktiviteter som ska ingå enligt kundkontraktet. När kontrakt är skrivet arbetar vi i projektteam som består av olika kompetenser för de ingående delarna och tillsammans ser vi till att leverera med hög kvalitet och alltid med säkerheten i fokus. Driftsättning och slutlig acceptans av kunden är en målsättning som vi jobbar mot och är en viktig milstolpe i våra projekt. Kunden är viktig för oss och vi gör alltid vårt yttersta för att ha en nöjd kund.

I flera av projekten har vi totalåtagande och där ingår framtagning av komplett signandling som sen ligger till grund för (underlag till) detaljprojektering av ställverkssystemet. Systemet omfattar både mjukvara och hårdvara som projekteras, verifieras och levereras enligt våra processer. Detaljprojekteringen sker internt hos Alstom och baseras på de produkter som kunden beställer. Du kommer att vara en nyckelspelare för att se till att de underlag som krävs för detaljprojekteringen tas fram med rätt kvalitet och i rätt tid.

I projekt med totalåtagande kommer du att ha en viktig roll för att planera alla ingående aktiviteter och leveranser som ingår i förprojekteringsfasen. Förprojektering sker ofta med hjälp av samarbetspartners, men det är Alstom som driver de aktiviteter och leveranser som ska utföras. Test case design

Create test cases from requirements, scenarios and error reports (NCRs). Discuss the test case design with System Engineers, Test Coordinator, Safety Coordinator and Safety Validator.

Implement test cases in scripts for execution in automatic test environment. Understand the automatic test environment as a user of it.
Setup and maintain the test environments and continuous integration system including automatic test environments, simulators, and support tools.

Test execution

Execute tests, manual and automatic, locally, in test labs and in dedicated automatic test environment. Be able to demonstrate the system and test execution for customers. Analyse the behaviour of the system under test.

As a Software Engineer your focus will be software design of a generic computer-based interlocking system (CBI2) used in many different countries. The CBI2 is a part of the INTERFLO 450 system, which is a safety classified (SIL4) signaling solution for main lines. In the daily work you will have the possibility to learn more about development of safety classed systems and at the same time gain knowledge about Signalling safety requirements, Safety Integrity Level (SIL4) and European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC).

The generic product CBI2 is a computer-based interlocking system capable of market adaptation for use in different countries. The first computer-based interlocking went into operation in 1978 and today computer-based interlocking plants have been delivered to different counties around the world by the company.

Join us as a Railway Signalling Test Engineer in Stockholm or in Hässleholm.

Purpose of the Job

As a Railway Signalling Test Engineer you will be working with the specific application of the wayside system within region North. The main responsibility in the role as Test Engineer is to verify that the wayside system fulfils the railway signalling requirements. Tests will be carried out on target machine and in a virtual environment doing manual test or implementing and maintaining automated test cases.

Your responsibilities will include:
Plan the test activities, set up the test environment and execute test cases.
Write Test Specification and analyze system requirements.
Report and analyze non-conformity reports and test results.
Perform bid estimations.
Cooperation with employees within the team and department to continuously improve system knowledge and improve way of working.
Manage the integration process using the software baselines.
Develop and maintain records on the integration activities.


Key requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Preferably Electrical, Computer Science, Applied Physics or similar) alternatively, any equivalent degree or work experience will be accepted.
Experience in a similar role or with testing systems including integrated hardware and software.
Basic knowledge of embedded systems, understanding schematics and layouts of embedded Hardware.
Experience from similar industries with safety applications, (automotive, industrial or aerospace) is an advantage.
Experience with test automation, Climate, EMC or Vibration Tests is considered a plus.
Computer knowledge for example installation of operating systems, drivers and network configuration.
Knowledge of Phyton and Linux.
Railway signalling knowledge will be highly preferred.
English and Swedish at a fluent level are mandatory for this role.

Purpose of the Job
Software testing plays a vital role in ensuring the quality, reliability and continuity of our software solutions and our customers operations. Your passion for software quality and meticulous testing is therefore keys to being successful in this role. As a Sub System Test Engineer, you will be challenged with complex technical environments and will be expected to use your knowledge to promote quality to the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Test case design
Create test cases from requirements, scenarios and error reports (NCRs). Discuss the test case design with System Engineers, Test Coordinator, Safety Coordinator and Safety Validator.
• Test implementation
Implement test cases in scripts for execution in automatic test environment. Understand the automatic test environment as a user of it.
Setup and maintain the test environments and continuous integration system including automatic test environments, simulators, and support tools.
Install, update and maintain software on both virtual as well as target hardware on the system under test
• Test execution
Execute tests, manual and automatic, locally, in test labs and in dedicated automatic test environment. Be able to demonstrate the system and test execution for customers. Analyse the behaviour of the system under test.
Reproduce and verify error reports (NCRs) and collect information needed for NCR analyses asked by developers.
Based on knowledge and experience of the systems under test, perform exploratory tests.
Integrate sub-systems in system lab, and make sure that the system under test is ready for system test.

Report the progress, status, issues, risks and remaining work to different stakeholders (Team members, Test Coordinator and Project management as examples). Continuously look for improvements in our products, tools and processes. Write NCRs for errors found in the systems under test and the test environments. Invite to and participate in Test meetings, review meetings, morning meetings and other project related meetings. Be part of Test estimation activities.




Qualifications

Key requirements:
• Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent work experience.
• Technical experience with testing in agile development projects.
• Good understanding of HW and SW interactions within complex system architectures.
• Programming knowledge/understanding desirable (experience with programming languages like: C, C++, C#, Python, Expect)
• Relevant experience within test lab environment.
• Experience of ERTMS or other safety-critical systems is highly valued.
• Good knowledge of UNIX (Linux), Git/Gerrit and knowledge of DOORS, Rational Synergy or similar tools are considered a plus.

Signalling Engineer Hardware Configuration will be part of an experienced and engaged team within Region North Engineering Nordics organization.

Rail Control Solutions (RCS) is a world leader in developing, engineering, and installing rail control and signalling safety systems, products, and services. RCS enables the safe and efficient operation of rail networks and trains.


Your Role


The Signalling Engineer will be working with the specific application of the wayside system within region North with focus on Sweden. The main responsibility in the role as Software Railway Signalling Engineer is to configure parameters in the software of the interlocking system in order to fulfil the railway signalling requirements stated in the Signalling System Configuration.


Your responsibilities will include:


• Railway signaling system design of a specific application with safety requirements.
• Decide about technical solutions related to application design/SW Configuration.
• Follow applicable internal and external railway rules and regulations.
• Create and deliver specific application documentation to secure quality and safety.
• Follow applicable internal procedures for Configuration and Change Management.
• Perform bid estimations.
• Cooperation with employees within the team and department to continuously improve system knowledge and improve way of working.
• Analyze and understand system requirements for the railway signaling system.


Qualifications


• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or any other equivalent field or work experience.
• Relevant experience required in a similar role (i.e. directly linked to the requirements of the position/role).
• Safety and system related engineering experience.
• Experience of development according to safety standards such as CENELEC (EN50126, EN50128, EN50129) or equivalent.
• Computer knowledge for example installation of operating systems, drivers and network configuration.
• Relevant experience working with requirements, specifications and documentation of complex technical systems.
• Railway signalling knowledge will be preferred.
• Phyton and Linux knowledge.

Purpose of the Job


In this role, you will be responsible for Configuration management of wayside hardware & software specific projects. As Configuration Manager, you will maintain and monitor application of Bombardier Transportation configuration management process and ensure that change implementation is properly applied, and principles are rigorously followed.
The Configuration Manager assures integrity of BT configuration and change management process and its governance. The role shall oversee and support all functions involved in the configuration and change management process. You will be part of an experienced and engaged team working within Region North.


Your responsibilities will include:


• Organize and chair the Change Control Board meetings.
• Create, implement, and maintain the Configuration Management Plan.
• Co-ordinate the configuration management activities for projects.
• RTC and Synergy Server knowledge and act as a point of contact for trouble shooting.
• Create and maintain the Document Plan.
• Supervise deliveries and assist in release work.
• Perform activities concerning the document baseline work for validation releases.
• Supervise Requirement deliveries and assist in release work.
• Release Management, set and change release states for configuration objects.
• Effective operation of configuration and change management process, tools, policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supervise Requirement deliveries and assist in release work.
• Drive changes related to the configuration management process and tools.
• Support the automation (DevOps) of configuration management-related processes and steps in different tools.


Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in either electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Excellent MS Office knowledge is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of Configuration and Change Management.
• Experience with change control boards.
• English fluent is mandatory for this role, Swedish, German or other European language will be considered a plus.
• Knowledge of Aras Innovator and Rational Synergy is considered a plus.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Open minded, easily adaptable, positive attitude towards new challenges.

As Software Engineer, you will be part of a team developing train control software. The focus will be on Radio Block Center (RBC), with a strong future in the years to come. The RBC is a part of the INTERFLO 450 system, which is a safety classified (SIL4) signaling solution for main lines and follows the ERTMS (“European Rail Traffic Management System”) standard. Bombardier is a market leader in providing ERTMS technology and we were the first supplier to commission an ERTMS Level 2 system for commercial operation. During the coming 10 years ERTMS will be rolled out and connecting Europe. The RBC team is a highly experienced team with a good atmosphere, where collaboration is key.
