Your mission:
Perform the activities (under the governance/guidance of the PSAM) related to safety assurance in the Projects and Programs (products and systems). Activities can be related to Project, System, software, hardware domains.



Your responsibilities will include:
Deliver/perform Safety analysis under the guidance of the PSAM, with the strict application of process as per Signalling Safety Instruction
Participate to the elaboration of the Safety Reports and the Safety Case under the guidance of the PSAM
Apply the safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification and validation) defined for the project / system / product
Attend periodic Safety Reviews
Support actions contributing to close the findings of the assessors (Internal or External)




Your experience and qualifications:
Advanced University or Engineering degree
English operational in reading and writing for technical documentation
Can be a beginner in safety but depending of the domain specific experience is required on System, data preparation, Hardware or Software domain

Your future role

You'll be responsible for managing, performing, and ensuring activities related to safety along the lifecycle of our products and subsystems and deliver safe solutions. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business and certified specialists across technical domains – your tasks will be to coordinate all safety assurance activities on the project, system, or product as per the safety process defined in the Signalling Safety Instructions. Purpose of the role
The Signalling Engineer Hardware Configuration will do detailed design of cabinets and assure that the product meets applicable customer specifications. The role also includes support to manufacturing, installation, test and commissioning during construction of system.

Key responsibilities:
• Hardware Configuration of a safety critical system.
• Interact with external suppliers of equipment.
• Decide about technical solutions to fulfil customer requirements and design rules.
• Report the status of assigned work package to the line organization.
• Participate in meetings as required representing the specific area of knowledge (customer meetings, project meetings, CCB-meetings etc.).
• Compose pre-studies/investigations for bids in his/her area of expertise.
• Perform bid estimations.
• Cooperation with employees within the team and department to continuously improve system knowledge and improve way of working.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or any other equivalent field or work experience.
• Relevant experience required in a similar role (i.e. directly linked to the requirements of the position/role).
• Proven experience in railway signalling or electrical/mechanical education to be able to work independently.
• Experience in railway signalling, ERTMS or other safety-critical systems is highly valued.
• Previous experience in working with Design tools: such as AutoCAD, CAD, Elmaster.
• Experience in working with MS Office, SharePoint.
• Willingness to travel a couple of times per year.

Join us as a Sub System Test Engineer in the area of the Radio Block Centre (RBC) and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Hässleholm, Sweden.

Purpose of the Job

Software testing plays a vital role in ensuring the quality, reliability and continuity of our software solutions and our customers operations. Your passion for software quality and meticulous testing is therefore keys to being successful in this role. As a Sub System Test Engineer of the RBC, you will get to know the system behind ERTMS, be challenged with complex technical environments and expected to use your knowledge to promote quality to the highest standards.
Further you will also be trained and get to know signalling safety requirements, CENELEC, and quality assurance.


Your responsibilities will include:
Test case design

Create test cases from requirements, scenarios and error reports (NCRs). Discuss the test case design with System Engineers, Test Coordinator, Safety Coordinator and Safety Validator.
Test implementation

Implement test cases in scripts for execution in automatic test environment. Understand the automatic test environment as a user of it.
Setup and maintain the test environments and continuous integration system including automatic test environments, simulators, and support tools.
Install, update and maintain software on both virtual as well as target hardware on the system under test
Test execution

Execute tests, manual and automatic, locally, in test labs and in dedicated automatic test environment. Be able to demonstrate the system and test execution for customers. Analyse the behaviour of the system under test.
Reproduce and verify error reports (NCRs) and collect information needed for NCR analyses asked by developers.
Based on knowledge and experience of the systems under test, perform exploratory tests.
Integrate sub-systems in system lab, and make sure that the system under test is ready for system test.
Progress reporting

Report the progress, status, issues, risks and remaining work to different stakeholders (Team members, Test Coordinator and Project management as examples). Continuously look for improvements in our products, tools and processes. Write NCRs for errors found in the systems under test and the test environments. Continuously look for improvements in our products, tools and processes.
Planning and Coordination

Invite to and participate in Test meetings, review meetings, morning meetings and other project related meetings. Be part of Test estimation activities.

Key requirements:
Analytic & structured

Be able to in a structured way analyse and describe issues, situations, and the status of the tests performed.
Understand about systems under test, their configuration, interfaces and experience within test lab environment
Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent work experience.
Technical experience with testing in agile development projects.
Understanding of HW and SW interactions within complex system architectures.
Good knowledge of UNIX (Linux)
English and Swedish at a fluent level is highly valued for this role.


Qualifications & Functional Knowledge that are extra valued:
Programming knowledge/understanding desirable (experience with programming languages like: C, C++, C#, Python, Expect)
Experience of ERTMS or other safety-critical systems is highly valued.
Git/Gerrit and knowledge of DOORS, Rational Synergy or similar tools are also considered a plus.
